Are Central Training Services courses approved by a recognised Awarding Body?

Yes, our courses are approved by the following awarding bodies:

City and Guilds, CPCS, ECITB/CCNSG, CITB/CSkills, SQA, RTITB/NORS, IPAF, PASMA

Where are the courses conducted?

Either at our training centre in Bo’ness or at our clients’ premises, if suitable.

Confined Spaces courses are conducted at our Kirkintilloch satellite centre or at our clients’ premises, if suitable.

What qualifications do Central Training Services offer?

  • CPCS Red Card for various types of plant.
  • RTITB/NORS for all types of Fork Lift Trucks etc.
  • IPAF of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP).
  • PASMA Aluminium Scaffolding.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport Scheme.
  • Plant Operations – SVQ Level 2 for various types of mobile plant.
  • CSCS Health and Safety Tests.
  • Controlling Lifting Operations:  Slinger/Signaller – SVQ Level 2.
  • Controlling Lifting Operations:  Planning Lifts (Appointed Person) – SVQ Level 3.
  • NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety Level 3 Certificate and Level 5 Diploma.

Who arranges any eligible grants from CSkills?

These are payable to in-scope companies, and if requested Central Training Services will assist in claiming these grants and will notify CITB/CSkills for clients.

Do Central Training Services have a quality system?

Yes, Central Training Services are BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 accredited by The British Standards Institute; are a recognised Investors in People company and have achieved Gold Standard in Healthy Working Lives Award.

What type of customers do Central Training Services train?

Central Training Services clients range from individuals and small businesses to large national companies such as Scottish Power and organisations such as MoD and Local Authorities.

What is the duration of the courses?

The duration of each course is based on operator experience, certification required and the type of course.

Courses normally vary from 1 to 10 days as required.

Do the trainees receive a certificate?

Yes, upon successful completion of the course (and payment of course invoice).

Timescale for receipt of certificate depends on which Awarding Body is responsible for issuing it.

Are the courses classroom based?

No, courses are highly participative, mainly practical with classroom sessions only as required.
