By the end of the course the delegate should have an understanding of:

  • The principal requirements of The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997.
  • Responsibilities under other relevant regulations/legislation.
  • The principal duties of the person responsible for managing entry into a confined space.
  • Carrying out risk assessments.
  • Developing safe systems of work using permit to work systems.
  • Putting emergency arrangements in place.

Who Should Attend

Those persons who are responsible for managing all aspects of entry into confined spaces which include normal working and emergency situations, and who are responsible for the preparation of safe systems of work as required under Section 2(2) of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and Confined Spaces Regulations 1997.

Certification

Central Training Services Limited Theory and Practical Certificate – Valid for 3 years.

Refresher Period

Managing Confined Space Refresher Course recommended after 3 years.

Any Other Relevant Information

This is a classroom based awareness course only.
Delegates attending only this course are not qualified for entry into confined spaces.
